Video Systems

Cameras

Video monitoring and recording systems are typically one of the most critical systems in a correctional facility. A great video system starts with a great camera. Security Automation Systems provides and installs only high-quality camera equipment from leading manufacturers, such as Bosch Security Systems. Proper camera selection, placement, and adjustment are key elements to what level of video quality the system will provide.

CCTV Head-end Equipment

Security Automation Systems is experienced in working with a wide variety of CCTV equipment and manufacturers. From traditional video matrix switchers, multiplexers, and video quads, to Digital Video Recorders (DVRs), Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and total IP-based network video systems, we have a solution for you.

One of our primary network video recorder offerings is the March Networks series of recorders. March Networks has a proven track record designing, implementing and supporting networked IP video software applications and enterprise-class hardware platforms.  Their solutions deliver exceptional reliability and scalability and comprehensive video management. Security Automation Systems is a March Networks Certified Solution Provider.

IP-based Video Systems

Video systems have progressed a long way in the last several years due to the convergence of video systems and IP networks. Security Automation Systems offers complete solutions for our customers that want to install new network-based video systems or migrate/upgrade from an existing analog CCTV system to a network-based system. For facilities that have existing analog cameras using coaxial cable for the transmission of video signals, we offer digital encoding systems that convert the analog signals to digital streams, which can be broadcast over a network.

Although they might not be the correct solution for every facility, network-based video systems offer several advantages over traditional analog systems and digital video recording systems. One of the network-based video system products we offer is the suite of Digital Video Management System (DVMS) software, produced by Milestone Systems. Security Automation Systems is a Milestone Systems Certified Partner.

One major advantage of the DVMS is the unmatched scalability. The system can support unlimited servers, sites and clients to allow you to design a system to fit your organization. Milestone Systems is compatible with more than 300 different IP-based video camera and encoder products, and selected DVRs from over 35 different vendors. These systems utilize commercially available servers to host the DVMS software and commercially available storage devices (direct attached storage devices and network attached storage devices) to store recorded video. These systems allow you to grow your installations along with your needs incrementally per camera. The long-term costs of these systems is lower because the end user is better able to manage and upgrade these systems, since they utilize non-proprietary hardware. Below is an overview of the architecture of the XProtect Enterprise System.
